As an artist educator, my goal is to create opportunities that facilitate learning by the investigation of artistic practices and concepts from broad, historical, and cultural contexts to unique, personal, and ephemeral moments. Believing every individual constructs knowledge based on an evolving collection of interpretations about their experiences, I want to enable a process of meaning making that encourages a space for both reflexivity and receptiveness where participants can develop and share their ideas with others. These moments occur in classrooms, museums, studios, workshops, and auditoriums; but also in physical and virtual community spaces, with public and private vernaculars, and all throughout our lives.
